Live scan or ink cards?
Live scan is usually faster and rejected less often, because the software checks print quality while you're still in the chair. Ink cards are still required by plenty of agencies, including many out-of-state licensing boards and paper ATF filings.
Tell us who is asking for your fingerprints and we'll tell you which method they accept before you book.
Who tells you which to use
The agency requesting the check decides. Some send you to a specific vendor and won't accept prints from anyone else. Oregon state agency checks, for example, are commonly routed through the state's contracted vendor, and those appointments have to be scheduled through that system with the correct code.
Bring the instructions you received. If they name a vendor, code, or ORI number, follow them exactly, because prints submitted under the wrong code get rejected and you pay again.
What we handle
Digital capture for FBI Identity History Summary requests through our channeler partners, Florida Level 2 submissions to FDLE, and electronic files such as the EFT file for ATF eForms.
We also print digitally captured prints onto FD-258 or other cards when an agency wants a physical card, which often produces a cleaner card than ink.
Getting a clean scan
Moisturize the day before but not the day of. Wash and dry your hands before the appointment, and remove rings. If your prints are worn from manual work, age, or medication, tell us and we'll take extra time.
Free archive service
We keep your fingerprint record on file. If an agency rejects a card, asks for a second copy, or you need the same prints for another application later, we reprint or resubmit without a new appointment and without charging you again for the capture.
Agency, FBI, and card fees are set by those offices and still apply. Tell us the original appointment name and date when you call.

Questions about live scan fingerprinting
What is live scan fingerprinting?
An inkless method that captures your fingerprints digitally and sends them electronically to the requesting agency. It's usually faster than ink cards and rejected less often.
Is live scan better than ink cards?
Usually, because the software checks quality during capture. But the agency requesting your check decides which it accepts, and many still require ink cards.
Can you submit to any agency electronically?
No. Each agency controls who may submit to it, and some require their own contracted vendor. Bring your instructions and we'll confirm what we can submit before you book.
How much does live scan cost?
Our live scan fee is $55. Agency, FBI, and channeler fees are separate, and you usually pay those when you register.
Do you offer live scan at my workplace?
Ask when you call. Mobile fingerprinting is available, and we'll tell you which submissions can be handled on site.
What if I need another copy later?
We keep your fingerprint record on file, so reprints and resubmissions do not need a new appointment and we do not charge again for taking your prints. Agency and card fees still apply. Call (971) 514-3743 with the name and date of the original appointment.
