Notarial acts we perform
Acknowledgments, where you confirm the signature on a document is yours. Jurats, where you swear or affirm that the contents are true and sign in front of us. Copy certifications, where we certify that a copy matches an original you hold. Oaths and affirmations taken without a signature. Signature witnessing.
We can't certify copies of documents a government office issues, such as birth certificates, marriage certificates, or court records. Order certified copies of those from the office that issued them.
Call ahead before you come
Our offices are by appointment, and we are often out on a mobile visit, so call before you come and we will have a notary ready and tell you exactly what to bring.
If you cannot travel, our mobile notary comes to you, and title companies and escrow offices can book loan signings through us.
Documents people bring us
Powers of attorney, affidavits and sworn statements, consent letters for children traveling abroad, bills of sale and vehicle titles, parental consent forms, school and employment forms, trust and estate documents, and papers headed abroad that will need an apostille afterward.
What to bring
Bring the document unsigned. In most cases you have to sign in front of the notary, so signing beforehand can mean starting over.
Every signer needs to be present with a current government-issued photo ID, such as a driver's license, state ID, passport, or permanent resident card. Each signer must understand the document and be signing willingly.
What a notary cannot do
We confirm identity and witness signatures. We are not attorneys, so we can't give legal advice, tell you which document you need, explain what a document means, or complete a document for you.
We also can't notarize a document with blank spaces, notarize for someone who isn't present, or notarize if a signer seems confused or pressured.
Office or mobile
Coming to our Beaverton office costs $10 per notarial act with no travel fee. If you can't travel, our mobile notary comes to your home, office, hospital, or care facility for a $90 visit fee within 5 miles, plus the notary fee per signature and mileage beyond 5 miles.
We're commissioned in Oregon and Washington, so we can also notarize in Vancouver and Clark County. Washington caps its notary fee at $15 per act.
Notarizing documents going abroad
A notarized document headed to another country usually needs an apostille or authentication afterward. Notarize it here first, then we can courier the apostille request for you. If the document isn't in English, it needs a certified translation before we notarize it.
Everything in one place
Fingerprinting, the FBI background check, notarization, witnesses, certified translation, the apostille or authentication request, passport photos, and tracked shipping are all done by our own team, in our own offices.
That matters because these steps have an order. A translation done before the apostille usually has to be redone. A document notarized in the wrong state cannot be apostilled here. When one team handles the chain, those mistakes do not happen, and you make one call instead of coordinating four businesses against one deadline.

Questions about notary services
How much does a notary cost in Oregon?
$10 per notarial act, which is the maximum Oregon allows. At our Beaverton office there's no travel fee. Washington notarial acts are $15 each.
Is there a notary near me in Beaverton?
Yes. We're at 2644 SW 178th Ave, Beaverton, OR 97003, near Aloha, Hillsboro, and Tigard. Call (971) 514-3743 to confirm a time and what to bring.
Do I need an appointment?
Call first so we can confirm someone is here and tell you what to bring. Same-day appointments are usually available. Call (971) 514-3743.
Should I sign the document before I arrive?
No. In most cases you sign in front of the notary. Bring it completed but unsigned.
What ID do I need?
A current government-issued photo ID, such as a driver's license, state ID, passport, or permanent resident card. Every signer needs one.
Can you notarize a copy of my birth certificate?
No. Notaries can't certify copies of government-issued records. Order a certified copy from the vital records office that issued it. We can then notarize other documents or courier the apostille request.
Can you notarize a document in Spanish or another language?
We notarize the signature, not the contents, but we have to be able to communicate directly with the signer. If the receiving office needs the document in English, we can prepare a certified translation first.
Do you notarize wills?
Oregon wills need two witnesses rather than a notary. We provide independent witnesses and can notarize any self-proving affidavit your attorney includes.
