What Oregon State Police needs
OSP asks for a properly rolled, complete set of fingerprints on the FBI's standard blue applicant card, the FD-258, with all required fields filled in. Send it with the Request for Set Aside Criminal Record Check form. For motions that set aside a conviction, include a $33 check or money order payable to Oregon State Police for each case.
OSP sends the fingerprint-based record check to the prosecuting attorney for your case, not to you, and the card and form are not returned. Always use the current OSP form and mailing address from the Oregon State Police or Oregon Judicial Department website, because fees and instructions can change.
When you may not need fingerprints
Motions to set aside certain marijuana convictions under ORS 475B.401 don't require a fingerprint card. Your court's instructions will tell you which type of motion you are filing.
How the set-aside process works
You file a Motion to Set Aside with the circuit court in the county where your case was handled, and you send your fingerprint card, form, and any fee to Oregon State Police. The prosecuting attorney typically has 120 days to object. If they object, the court schedules a hearing. If the court grants your motion, the record is sealed.
We're not attorneys
We roll your fingerprint card. We can't tell you whether your case is eligible, fill out your motion, or give legal advice. The Oregon Judicial Department's set-aside forms, legal aid organizations, and private attorneys can help with those questions.
Free archive service
We keep your fingerprint record on file. If an agency rejects a card, asks for a second copy, or you need the same prints for another application later, we reprint or resubmit without a new appointment and without charging you again for the capture.
Agency, FBI, and card fees are set by those offices and still apply. Tell us the original appointment name and date when you call.

Questions about expungement fingerprint cards
Does Oregon require fingerprints to expunge a record?
For most set-aside motions under ORS 137.225, yes. Oregon State Police needs an FD-258 fingerprint card and its Request for Set Aside Criminal Record Check form. Motions to set aside certain marijuana convictions under ORS 475B.401 don't require fingerprints.
How much is the Oregon State Police set-aside fee?
OSP charges $33 per case for motions that set aside a conviction, paid by check or money order to Oregon State Police. Court filing fees and fingerprinting fees are separate. Confirm the current fee on the OSP form before mailing.
Where do I send my set-aside fingerprint card?
Mail it directly to Oregon State Police with the Request for Set Aside Criminal Record Check form, not to the court. The current mailing address is printed on the OSP form.
Where can I get expungement fingerprints near Portland?
Oregon Apostille Fingerprinting Notary rolls FD-258 set-aside cards at 2644 SW 178th Ave, Beaverton, and by mobile appointment across the Portland metro area. Call (971) 514-3743.
Can you tell me if my record can be expunged?
No. We're not attorneys and can't advise on eligibility. The Oregon Judicial Department's set-aside instructions, legal aid, or an attorney can help you decide whether to file.
Does my set-aside paperwork need a notary?
It depends on the form you use. If your court or county form asks for a notarized signature, we can notarize it at the same appointment.
What if I need another copy later?
We keep your fingerprint record on file, so reprints and resubmissions do not need a new appointment and we do not charge again for taking your prints. Agency and card fees still apply. Call (971) 514-3743 with the name and date of the original appointment.
