What we are
Oregon Apostille Fingerprinting Notary is an independent private business. We are not a government agency, not a law firm, and not an FBI-approved channeler. We are notaries commissioned in Oregon and Washington, and we act as a private facilitator and courier for apostille and authentication requests.
Quotes and fees
We give you a price before we start. Our fees cover our services. Government fees, agency fees, channeler fees, shipping, and translation partner costs are separate unless we say otherwise in writing.
Notary fees are capped by state law: $10 per notarial act in Oregon and $15 in Washington, or $25 for a Washington remote notarial act. Travel fees for mobile appointments are not set by law and are agreed on with you in advance.
Timelines
We give you a return date for the steps we handle and we meet it. Government offices set their own processing times, and those are outside our control. If an outside office runs behind, we tell you as soon as we know.
Our guarantee
If a document is rejected because of a mistake we made, we correct it and redo our work at no additional charge. This does not cover government or agency fees charged for a resubmission, decisions made by a receiving office, or documents rejected because of information you supplied.
What we need from you
Accurate information, valid identification, and the correct version of your document. If an agency gave you instructions, a vendor name, an ORI number, or a reason code, share them with us. We follow those instructions exactly.
Every signer must be present, understand the document, and sign willingly. We cannot notarize otherwise.
What we cannot do
We cannot give legal or immigration advice, choose or complete forms for you, guarantee a government decision, or promise a processing time set by another office. We cannot notarize documents with blank spaces or for people who are not present.
Cancellations and refunds
Let us know as early as you can if you need to cancel or reschedule a mobile appointment. Once we have submitted a request to a government office or shipped a document, the fees for that work are not refundable, because the work is done.
If you're unhappy with something we did, call us. We would rather fix it than have you leave a problem unresolved.
Your documents
We handle your originals carefully and return or forward them as agreed. Our privacy policy explains what we collect and how long we keep it. Shipping carriers and government offices handle documents under their own terms once they leave our hands.
Changes to these terms
If we update these terms, we'll change the date on this page. The terms in effect when you book are the ones that apply to your job.
Questions about these terms
Do you offer refunds?
Before we start work, yes. Once a request has been submitted to a government office or a document has shipped, that work is done and those fees aren't refundable. If we made a mistake, we fix it at no charge.
Are government fees included in your price?
No. Our fees cover our services. Government, agency, channeler, shipping, and translation partner costs are separate unless we state otherwise in writing.
What if the government office takes longer than expected?
We meet the return date for the steps we handle, but processing times at government offices are outside our control. We tell you as soon as we learn about a delay.
